As the attachment for worldly endeavours and possessions is destroyed, as the ego of their ownership gets reduced, then the yearning for liberation keeps increasing. That ego which is so familiar since time immemorial normally does not go away suddenly. Therefore, the body, mind, wealth, etc., whatever exists as own, that is offered unto the Enlightened One. The Enlightened One normally does not take that, but only instructs to give up the ownership in them. And the thing worth doing also is this alone that, at every instance, deliberate again and again to stop ownership in the worldly endeavours and possessions; it is then that the yearning for liberation becomes pure.
